After the demise of legend Srikanth, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin, superstar Rajinikanth pay tribute

South superstar Rajinikanth and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister paid tribute to the legend of Tamil cinema.

Srikanth played the antagonist in the film ‘Bhairavi’, which was Rajinikanth’s first film as a hero.

Veteran Tamil actor Srikanth passed away at the age of 81 in Chennai on Tuesday. He passed away after an illness due to health complications in old age. He was born on 19 March 1940 in Erode district of Tamil Nadu. He breathed his last on October 12, 2021. The actor made his debut in the Tamil film industry in 1965. She starred opposite the late J Jayalalithaa in the 1965 classic ‘Vennira Adai’. In his career spanning more than 40 years, he has entertained audiences with his performances in nearly 200 films, a few television series and plays.

Artists association Nadigar Sangam shared the news of the actor’s demise in a tweet on Tuesday night.

Srikanth played the antagonist in the film ‘Bhairavi’, which was Rajinikanth’s first film as a hero. This film was released in 1978. Srikanth also shared screen space with Rajneeth’s 1978 film Sadhurangam.

Rajinikanth took to Twitter to pay tribute to the late actor.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also paid tribute to the late actor. In his condolence message, he said that he was personally acquainted with the late actor, who had starred in several “memorable films” and played a variety of roles.

Srikanth is known for his many supporting roles in films. He played supporting characters in several films of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Srikanth became a well-known face of the Tamil film industry after his performance in the 1974 superhit ‘Thanga Pathakkam’. He was a lead actor in the 1974 film “Dikkatra Parvati”, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil the following year. He was last seen as an actor in the 2009 film ‘Kudiyarasu’.
