The Bombay High Court has dismissed the case against singer Mika Singh for forcibly kissing Rakhi Sawant. A division bench of Justices AS Gadkari and SG Digge reached a decision after taking into account an affidavit submitted by Rakhi. The kissing incident is of 2006. The High Court ordered quashing of the FIR after Rakhi’s lawyer did not oppose the plea.

The FIR was lodged after Mika was accused of forcibly kissing Rakhi at a party at a restaurant in suburban Mumbai. Mika was charged under sections 354 (molestation) and 323 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

In April this year, the singer moved the High Court to quash the FIR filed by the police and the subsequent charge sheet. The High Court on Thursday perused the affidavit submitted by Rakhi which stated that she and Mika have resolved their differences amicably. Their affidavit states, “The entire controversy arose out of misunderstanding and misrepresentation on our part.”

mika singh and rakhi sawant controversy

In 2006, Mika had kissed Sawant on camera without her consent. Let us tell you that Rakhi Sawant attended Mika Singh’s birthday party. According to reports, the musician had appealed to everyone not to put cake on his face. Rakhi, on the other hand, did so and to ‘teach him a lesson’ she grabbed his face and kissed him. She was stunned and needed even a few seconds to respond. When it was over, Rakhi was still processing the incident when he pulled her over again and kissed her. Mika was then arrested on charges of molestation and was later released on bail. Much later, Rakhi and Mika reconciled when they bumped into each other outside a coffee shop last year.
