Maneshinde has demanded a similar probe in Riya Chakraborty’s drug case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

“I demanded on social media that there should be an inquiry in Riya’s case, and the NCB may set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter as well. NCB DG SN Pradhan had said a day earlier that WhatsApp chats are not allowed in the court. No medicine was found from him. No tests were done. Why should he suffer?” he said, according to the Times of India.

“His case was also handled by a group of officers who were also part of Aryan’s case. I am requesting Central Government officials and PMO for this. He also demanded investigation of all such cases by NCB officials.

Rhea Chakraborty had spent days in jail and was under media trial after actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai in June 2020.

Rajput’s death led to several inquiries, including the CBI and the NCB probe into alleged drug nexus in Bollywood. Chakraborty’s name was dragged into matters because of his association with Rajput.

Maneshinde, who represented Chakraborty in the case, said, “For the last three years, NCB has harassed a lot of people and action is needed against these officials. There were just WhatsApp chats and no testing was done. ,

Chakraborty was arrested by the NCB in September 2020 and sent to Byculla Women’s Jail in Mumbai, where he spent more than a month before being released on bail.

The probe agency, in its charge sheet, had alleged that she used to buy and finance narcotics for Sushant Singh Rajput.
