While the film took a bumper opening with Rs 140 crore on the first day, it also saw a lot of criticism online for its poor VFX, script, costumes and dialogues. The dialogue, especially about the ‘Lanka Dahan’ scene where Lord Hanuman is heard uttering the lines ‘Jalegi bhi tere baap ki’, has drawn severe criticism and trolling on social media.

Citing their disappointment in his portrayal, a user wrote, “Of the Lanka burning scene, Ravana’s son lights up Hanuman ji Tail: Jali na.. Abhi to aur jalegi. Jiski jalti hai wahi janta hai. Hanuman ji: Kapda tere baap ka.” Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki. The dialogue writing is so horrible!”

Another user said, “This kind of printed language was not expected.”

A netizen pointed out that the dialogue ‘Jalegi tere baap ki’ in ‘Adipurush’ is apparently copied from the show ‘Kumar Vishwas’ and posted a clip of the same.

“Bajrangbali`s dialogue in Aadipurush Movie What nonsense!!” a user seemed angry.

Others have cited examples of depictions of Lord Hanuman from the Ramanand Sagar series and the Japanese anime film `The Legend of Ramayana` in the 1990s, as well as animated Hanuman films and the Disney+Hotstar series, which depict him as We do. Both powerful, as well as intelligent.

Responding to the criticism, dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir said in an interview that it was not an error but a careful thought process that went into writing the dialogues for Bajrang Bali and all the characters.

In his statement, which he wrote in Hindi on Twitter, ‘Adipurush’ dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla said that it is possible that in a three-hour film he may have written “something different than you imagine for a duration of 3 minutes”, But the audience should not be in a hurry to call him ‘Sanatan Drohi’.

“The first lesson one learns from Ramkatha is to respect every emotion. What is right or wrong changes with time, but emotion is constant. I wrote over 4,000 lines of dialogues in ‘Adipurush’, of which Few sentiments were hurt on those five lines. In those hundreds of lines, where Shri Ram was praised, Mother Sita’s chastity was described, I was hoping to get praise for her, which I don’t know I Why not get it,” he said.

The writer-lyricist, who won the National Film Award for Best Lyrics in “Saina”, says he has no complaints with the audience. He further said, “If we stand against each other, Sanatan will lose. We have made ‘Adipurush’ for Sanatan Seva, it is a film that you are watching in large numbers and I am sure you Will see you in the future as well.”
