While Titus Sadhu was bought by Delhi Capitals, Richa Ghosh was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the WPL 2023 auction.

Kolkata: Two young Bengal cricketers – Tita Sadhu and Richa Ghosh, are all set to feature in the inaugural Women’s Premier League 2023. While Titus will play for Delhi Capitals, Ghosh will be seen in action for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Earlier, Chinsurah-born Titus was bought by the franchise for Rs. 25 lakhs.

The determined Tita has already started her preparation at the nearby ground in this small town of West Bengal.

She was busy practicing during the auction as well. She was overjoyed after being selected by Delhi along with her coach, who was in cloud nine. He got the news on his smartphone.

A brilliant fast bowler, Titus was the player of the match in U-19 World Cup final. His economy rate was excellent in the final where he took two wickets for just six runs in four overs. This performance has been instrumental in getting him keenly interested in WPL scouts.

“There was already tension. I have grown up watching IPL since childhood. Now it feels great to be a part of this Mahakumbh.”

“With so many foreign players in the team, we got to learn new things. If I get a chance, I will try to keep my place in the team.”

Titus’ coach Priyankar Banerjee said, ‘Titus has a great opportunity. He will get to know the mindset of the senior players. Playing with international players adds to the experience. How much money you get is not a big deal, what is important is that you will get a chance to play under the big banner.

Apart from this, Bengal cricketer Richa Ghosh also performed well in the last match against Pakistan and helped the team to win. She was also a part of the U-19 World Cup winning team. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh for Rs 1.9 crore in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction 2023 in Mumbai.

Right after the auction, Richa calls her father and promises to buy her a house in Kolkata. Her father often comes to Kolkata, but stays in hotels.
