Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will adopt it Common University Entrance Test (CUET) To admit students to undergraduate programs for the 2022-23 academic session, the university said in an official statement. The central university will follow both Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University, which have also announced to enroll students on the basis of the new entrance exam.

Students who are willing to apply for those courses have to fill the online form of JMI along with CUET. Thereafter the university will release the merit list sharing the names of the shortlisted students. Merely filling the CUET form will not automatically make the students eligible for JMI.

This is similar to the practice followed by the university for engineering and medical courses. JMI admits students to BTech program on the basis of marks in JEE and admission to BDS program will be done on the basis of marks in NEET. Similarly, BTech candidates will have to fill JEE form as well as JMI.

“It has been decided in the meeting of the top officials of the university that the admission to the selected undergraduate courses will be done through CUET. In an official notice, Jamia said, the university has informed the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The application forms for CUET will be available from April 2 on the official website, cuet.samarth.ac.in. Interested and eligible candidates can register for the entrance test for undergraduate courses in central universities by April 30.

As per the official notice of CUET, a candidate can opt for a maximum of 3 languages consisting of Section IA and Section IB. This exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
