After director-producer tussle, Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ shoots to resume in December

Actor Kamal Haasan, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film “Vikram”, will resume shooting for the much-awaited film “Indian 2” in December. Several online media reports suggest that the shooting of the long-delayed ‘Indian 2’ directed by Shankar will resume soon.

The shooting of the film was halted in February 2020 following an accident on the sets of the film. Later, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed the shooting. The shooting of the film was further delayed due to differences between director Shankar and Lyca Productions, who are handling Indian 2.

After several delays, director Shankar and executives of Lyca Productions have agreed to complete the project. During his differences with the production house, Shankar had stopped Indian 2 and started directing a Telugu film with Ramcharan.

This prompted the production company to move the court seeking a ban on Shankar from directing other films without completing Indian 2. The trial court directed both the parties to resolve the issue through talks and appointed a retired judge as arbitrator. An agreement was reached in further negotiations.

Now, reports say that the shooting of Indian 2 will “definitely resume from mid-December”. The shooting will go on for at least 100 days. Kamal Haasan is also expected to resume shooting on December 15.

Indian 2 stars Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh as female leads. Apart from Kamal, Kajal and Rakul in the film, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ganesh, Aishwarya Rajesh will be seen in the lead roles. Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music for the film.

Kamal is currently shooting for ‘Vikram’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Her first look in the action thriller has garnered over one crore views in less than 24 hours of its release on Saturday evening. The film is being produced by Raj Kamal Films International.
