Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom operator, earlier this month announced a hike in prepaid mobile tariff rates by up to 21 per cent, followed by Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi). The revised tariff rates will be effective from December 1 and can be selected from all existing touchpoints and channels.

The tariff hike includes JioPhone plans, unlimited plans and data add ons and ranges from 19.6 percent to 21.3 percent.

Customers still have two days to recharge from the old plan.

Reliance Jio said, “In line with its commitment to further strengthen a sustainable telecom industry where every Indian is empowered with a true digital life, Jio today announced its new unlimited plans. Will provide the best value.” Statement.

Jio has said that the new plans are to “ensure a sustainable telecom industry”.

“These plans will provide the best value in the industry. Jio customers will continue to be the biggest beneficiary, upholding Jio’s promise of providing the best quality service at the lowest prices globally,” Jio added.

Airtel and Vodafone Idea last week announced a hike of up to 25 per cent in their prepaid plan tariffs in a bid to improve the financial health.

Reliance Jio revised tariff plan:

  • The cheapest 28-day prepaid plan will now cost Rs 155, up from Rs 129 currently.
  • The popular 1GB per day plan with 24-day validity will now start at Rs 179. The price of this plan was Rs 149 earlier.
  • The Rs 199 plan which was a popular option for those seeking maximum data under Rs 200 will now cost Rs 239 for 28 days and continue with 1.5GB data per day.
