Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Tamil movie Annaatthe is still running successfully at the box office. The film was also released in Telugu on November 4, titled Pedanna. However, Pedanna was reportedly rejected by the audience of Telugu cinema for its over-the-top action sequences and melodramatic sequences. Now, online media reports are suggesting that Pedanna will be released on an OTT platform soon.
Reports have claimed that Pedanna will start streaming from November 26 on Sun NXT, an OTT platform operated by Sun TV Network.
As per reports, the dubbing rights of Annaatthe in Telugu were bought by ace producer Narayandas Narang and Suresh Babu for Rs 12 crore. As of now, it is struggling to collect 4 crores in its run in both the Telugu states – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and its dramatic run seems to be coming to an end now. Hence, the makers are now reportedly planning an OTT release of the film.
The makers have neither denied nor accepted that the reports of OTT release of Pedanna film are true. Tomorrow it will be confirmed whether the film will get an OTT release just 3 weeks after its theatrical release.
Pedanna marked Rajinikanth’s first collaboration with director Siva. Apart from Rajinikanth, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara and Prakash Raj are in the lead roles in the film.
Meanwhile, Tamil film Annaatthe is running successfully in theaters and has earned Rs 234.67 crore worldwide. The film had earned more than crores of rupees. 112.82 crores in just two days of release.
The story of the film revolves around Kalaiya, a village president, who leads a simple life and is devoted to the people and family of his village. He also shares an unbreakable bond with his sister. Kalaiya’s peaceful existence is disrupted when a villain enters her life.
