Afreen, daughter of Prayagraj violence accused lives in controversies: Active in CAA-NRC movement, told Afzal Guru innocent, tweeted for Sharjeel

Afreen is the elder daughter of Javed Mohammad. Afreen, who studied at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), has been very active on issues related to citizenship law to hijab.

Afreen’s maternal grandfather had gifted a house to her mother

Violence took place in Prayagraj on Friday i.e. June 10, and on Sunday, Afreen’s father Javed was bulldozed at his house considering him as the conspirator of the violence. After 5 hours of action, 3 JCBs demolished the 2-storey building.

After this, Sumaiya, the younger daughter of Javed Mohammad, claimed that the house which was demolished by the Prayagraj Development Authority was gifted to my mother by her maternal grandfather. All the documents are in my mother’s name. However, during this time Javed’s elder daughter started going viral on social media with her old statements.

Afreen has been active in student politics
Afreen Fatima is from Allahabad. He did high school and intermediate from St. Mary’s Convent School, Prayagraj. She was elected President of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Women’s College in 2018. There she was a student of BA language. While being the President of Women’s College in AMU, she has been active in student politics there. He did BA Honors and MA in Linguistics from AMU.

In 2019, he took admission in JNU for Masters.

Afreen has been active in the movement for the release and support of the student leaders who were arrested during the CAA movement.

Been active in protest against CAA-NRC
Afreen was elected as a counselor at the School of Language and Cultural Studies in the JNU student union election in September 2019.

Afreen Fatima was very active and opposed it even during the CAA-NRC protests. During that time a video of Afreen went viral, in which she was saying that she felt that neither the government nor the Supreme Court is worthy of the trust of Muslims. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also tweeted this video. Even then there was an uproar over it.

Went to many cities of South India for Hijab
Fatima was also very vocal in the matter of freedom to wear hijab. During his stay in JNU, he had visited many cities of South India regarding this matter.

During this time he also took part in many protests. It is being told that on January 22 this year, she also participated in the dharna of Muslim women in Prayagraj.

JNU students also demonstrated in support of Afreen Fatima and against the demolition of her house. The students also trended the hashtag standwithafreefatima on Twitter.
