aero india show 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 14th edition of Asia’s largest aero show- ‘Aero India 2023,– in Bengaluru today (February 13). The five-day event will focus on showcasing indigenous equipment/technologies and forging partnerships with foreign companies.

The Prime Minister also released a commemorative postage stamp in Bengaluru. The theme of Aero India 2023 is “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities”. The ‘CEO Round Table’ chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be held on the theme ‘Sky is the Limit: Opportunities Beyond Boundary’ on Monday.

“The Prime Minister’s emphasis on self-reliance in the Indian defense sector will also be on display, as the event will showcase the country’s progress in design leadership, growth in the UAV sector, defense space and future technologies. In addition, the event will promote the export of indigenous air Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) – platforms like Tejas, HTT-40, Dornier Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).

The event will also help integrate domestic MSMEs and start-ups into the global supply chain and attract foreign investment including partnerships for co-development and co-production.

How many countries will participate in Aero India Show 2023,

Aero India 2023 will see participation from over 80 countries. Ministers from around 30 countries and 65 CEOs from global and Indian OEMs are likely to participate in Aero India 2023. The Aero India 2023 exhibition will see the participation of over 800 defense companies, including around 100 foreign and 700 Indian companies. Indian companies participating in the exhibition include MSMEs and start-ups, which will showcase the advancement of niche technologies, and growth in aerospace and defense capabilities in the country.

According to the Defense Ministry, the five-day event will broadcast the rise of a strong and self-reliant ‘New India’ by showcasing India’s growth in aerospace and defense capabilities. What Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said:

Relevance IN of ‘Aero India Show 2023’:

Raksha Mantri emphasized that Aero India 2023 will provide a new impetus to the Government’s efforts to create a vibrant and world-class domestic defense industry to achieve the goal of ‘self-reliance’ in defense along with the overall development of the country. There will be a total of 115 companies displaying 227 products. It will showcase India’s development in developing an ecosystem for fixed wing platforms including display of various structural modules, simulators, systems (LRUs) etc. of the LCA-Tejas aircraft manufactured by private partners. New technologies and a UAV segment that will give an insight into India’s growth in each sector. The full scale LCA-Tejas aircraft in Full Operational Capability (FOC) configuration will take center stage at the India Pavilion.
