GURUGRAM: Deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala on Monday said every entrepreneur should adopt an ITI and sponsor it to train local youths in different sets of skills required by industries.
Addressing a gathering at an event organised by entrepreneurs’ organisation ‘EO Gurgaon’, Dushyant urged them to take lead in developing ITIs as factories for training local youths who can later be employed in different trades across industries, particularly in MSME sector.
The deputy CM asserted that entrepreneurs, by doing so, will not face shortage of skilled workforce in the state but also will get an opportunity to help the government in imparting jobs to local youths.
“We can bring machinery, but trainers are not available. Machines become outdated in your industry in two years, which you can send to the adopted ITIs or polytechnics to train local youths. There are many alternatives which need to be thought of to train youths,” he said.
“Industries and entrepreneurs should address the shortage of manpower by providing training to the youths at the local level. By doing this, youth will get employment and industries will get manpower at the local level according to their needs,” he said.
The deputy CM, citing examples, said there is a shortage of technicians to connect the high-tension power cables.
“With the help of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, we got 20 people trained in this, and today they are earning around Rs 90,000,” he said.
Dushyant, who also holds the additional charge of industry and commerce, further assured the entrepreneurs that the government has a pro-business outlook and its policies are directed towards increasing industrial investments in the state by easing compliance hurdles and setting up big projects like IMT Kharkhoda, electronic manufacturing cluster in Sohna and Global City in Gurgaon.
“Furthermore, work is under way on Metro expansion in Gurgaon. We have held two meetings on this in the past four months. There are also plans to build a Metro connectivity to Manesar via Global City by linkingDelhi’s Bijwasan to HUDA City Centre,” he added.
