Adityanath sets target of 2024 Lok Sabha elections for BJP: 75 out of 80 seats in UP

New Delhi: After the victory in the state assembly elections, now Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is eyeing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Addressing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers on Sunday (29 May), the UP CM directed them to start preparations for the 2024 general elections and set a target of winning 75 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP, PTI reported. “We have to prepare the ground for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from now on. We should go ahead with the target of winning 75 seats,” Adityanath told workers at the BJP’s one-day state executive meeting. Further, the UP CM said that the honest implementation of central and state government schemes and the work done by the government during COVID-19 helped the BJP achieve “better results” in the recently concluded assembly elections.

In the 2024 general elections, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have to move ahead with the target of winning 75 seats in Uttar Pradesh. adityanath added. The CM made this remark during the first state executive meeting after the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Notably, in the 2019 general election, the BJP had won 62 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh and its ally Apna Dal (S) got two seats.

According to ANI, the meeting was held to discuss the preparations for the celebration of 8 years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government, while the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha by-elections, Rajya Sabha biennial elections and the Legislative Council were discussed. Voting was also prepared. More than 600 BJP officials including Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, State President and Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Uttar Pradesh State General Secretary Sunil Bansal and BJP National Vice President Radha Mohan Singh were present in the meeting.
