Adityanath said in Kairana before the elections, ‘Taliban’s mentality will not be accepted in Uttar Pradesh’

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday called for an “exodus” of Hindus from Kairana a few years ago, telling the people of western Uttar Pradesh that those who now shoot at traders will be sent to the “next world”. Addressing a public meeting in Kairana, he criticized the “Taliban mentality”, saying it would not be accepted in the state. He also attacked the opposition, saying that he referred to the communal riots there in 2013 in Muzaffarnagar where Hindu houses were being burnt and innocent youths were killed. The alleged exodus from Kairana was a major issue in the 2017 assembly elections. The BJP had then claimed that hundreds of Hindu families had left the city after receiving threats from criminals.

However, this claim was opposed by others. Ahead of next year’s assembly elections in the state, Adityanath visited the city and promised compensation to some families, who were reportedly forced to leave it between 2014 and 2016.

Adityanath said the Muzaffarnagar riots and the exodus of people from Kairana were not election issues for the BJP. These are issues of our identity, honor and pride, the CM said.

The Chief Minister claimed that the criminals who had forced the traders and residents of Kairana to flee, had forced themselves to flee in the last four-and-a-half years. Adityanath said, “No criminal has the courage to walk with his head held high. And if a criminal dares to shoot a businessman or a civilian, the bullet will hit him and send him to the next world (another world).”

Promising exemplary punishment to the criminals, the Chief Minister said that no one would be allowed to create anarchy, incite riots and play with the honor of women. He said those supporting the “Taliban mindset” would not be accepted in the state.

“It (Taliban) makes life hellish for sisters and daughters, violates fundamental rights of citizens. It will not be accepted at all in UP,” the CM said. The CM also alleged that those who opposed the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya were “happy” by the Muzaffarnagar riots and “escape” from Kairana.

Inaugurating several development projects at Kairana in Shamli district, the CM said, “When there is Taliban rule in Afghanistan, they raise slogans. But we will not allow Talibanization at all. And whoever supports Taliban in UP Will do, the government will deal sternly with them.” . The CM said that he had come to Shamli in 2017 and promised to provide a better and safer environment.

He said that the then MP Hukum Singh had raised the issue of Kairana, he said that on the demand of the local people, he strengthened the police post and now laid the foundation of the Rs 250 crore PAC battalion camp. “Even when we were not in power, we had said that we would not accept such cowardly acts. When we came to power, we worked on zero tolerance towards criminals.

Attacking the opposition, he said that they could not see when the houses of Hindus were burnt and innocent youths were killed in Muzaffarnagar. . He alleged that he respected the rioters.

Adityanath also said that those who worked to destroy Kairana, the center of trade and classical music, would meet the same fate as Maricha and Subahu, the mythical demons mentioned in the Ramayana. Adityanath also met some families who had migrated from Kairana between 2014 and 2016, after allegedly receiving threats of extortion.

Adityanath claimed that the city is no longer known for criminal activities as the process of rapid development has begun. “Bypass road is being constructed to avoid traffic jam. Industrialization has started here and local people are getting employment,” the chief minister told reporters. He laid the foundation stone of PAC Battalion Camp, where 1,278 PAC personnel would be stationed. He inaugurated and laid foundation stones of projects worth Rs 425 crore.
