Adavallu Miku Joharlu from Roja, Venkatesh was the first choice for 7 films but he turned down

Daggubati Venkatesh is in the film industry since 1986 and has the highest success rate. In a career spanning three decades, Venkatesh has rejected many films which later went on to become big blockbusters.

Let’s take a look at the offers that Victory Venkatesh turned down:

Director Mani Ratnam’s 1988 film Gharana, the Telugu version of his film Agni Nachathiram, was introduced to Daggubati Venkatesh and Nagarjuna for the first time. But both turned down the offer and the project went to Prabhu, Kartik, Amala and newcomer Nirosha. The film was a huge success at the box office and ran for over 200 days in theatres.

The 1992 film Roja went to Madhu and Aravind Swamy when Venkatesh rejected another Mani Ratnam project. At that time Venkatesh was very busy with his Telugu romance drama ‘Chanti’.

Venkatesh was initially considered for the S Shankar-directed Mudhalvan. But Venkatesh declined the offer because of Kalisundam Ra. Released in 1999, the film became a blockbuster hit featuring Arjun Sarja, Manisha Koirala and Raghuvaran.

Director Dasaradha’s Santhosham featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna was a huge hit at the box office. Released in 2002, the makers offered the film to Venkatesh but the actor said no as he was already doing such stories. However, the film is considered one of the most successful hits of Nagarjuna’s career.

The 2012 action-drama Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum directed by Krish Jagarlamudi was initially accepted by Venkatesh, but with the release of another film at the last minute, Venkatesh opted out of the film.

Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal starrer Govindudu Andariwadele (2014) was well received by the audience. The makers offered Venkatesh the role of Ram Charan’s father, but he declined it as the role was a side character. After this the role went to Shrikant Meka. Srikanth got a good name for his performance in this film.

The latest on the list is the 2021 Telugu film Aadavallu Meeku Jauharlu, written and directed by Kishore Tirumala, which was offered to Venkatesh because of his female fan following. The actor is also said to have liked the story but turned down the offer due to some reasons. The film now stars Sharwanand and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
