Speaking in the Lok Sabha on the motion of thanks on the President’s address, Prasad said Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Tuesday were “baseless, shameful and full of lies, and came from a sense of despair”.
BJP member Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday accused the Gandhi family of being involved in corruption, saying those who are out on bail are leveling “baseless” allegations against the government.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha on the motion of thanks on the President’s address, Prasad said Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on Tuesday were “baseless, shameful and full of lies, and came from a sense of despair”.
On Tuesday, Gandhi attacked the government over the Hindenburg Report, which claimed that after the BJP came to power in 2014, there was a tremendous rise in Gautam Adani’s fortune as he jumped from 609th to second position in the global rich list. They went.
Hitting back at Rahul, Prasad said, “Those who are out on bail and are currently facing trial (in the National Herald case) are making baseless allegations.”
Gandhi could not accept the fact that the people had elected him twice Narendra Modi as prime minister and will do so again in 2024, he said.
He said the Adani group has also invested in the states of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Kerala, which are ruled by non-BJP parties.
Prasad also refuted Gandhi’s allegations regarding Adani’s assets abroad, saying the group had made overseas investments even during the UPA regime.
“Rahul Gandhi has a problem with the growth of Indian businesses. Things have changed under the Modi government. Now the business is growing honestly and the commission and transactions have stopped. That’s why the Congress party has a problem,” Prasad said.
The BJP leader from Bihar said the Congress rule was affected by corruption in the 2G spectrum allocation, Commonwealth Games apart from the coal and Adarsh housing scams. They also want to bring weapons from abroad for the defense forces.
Accusing Gandhi of misleading the House, Prasad said, “The family steeped in corruption is blaming the Modi government, which is focusing on development.”
Some of the remarks made by Gandhi in the House on Tuesday were expunged from the records.
