In the first scene of The Adam Project, a younger version of Ryan Reynolds’ character is beaten up for speaking his mind. Because it’s an ongoing lie in the movie, you can appropriately criticize it for a million other things, but not for its lack of self-awareness. Reynolds, as we all know, has decided to play versions of the same fast-paced flick in every movie since Deadpool, often leading audiences to fantasize about reaching the screen, telling them Holds her by the screw of the neck, and tells her to just shut up.
