Tamil actor Prabhu has recently requested minister KN Nehru to inaugurate the statue of late actor Sivaji Ganesan, which was installed ten years ago in Trichy. Prabhu said this during the inauguration of a photo exhibition of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin titled Our Chief Minister, Our Pride. Talking to the media after visiting the exhibition, Prabhu said, “I am familiar with Chief Minister MK Stalin since childhood. He is a hardworking person. Why he has reached the post of Chief Minister today is because of his hard work and dedication. He is a member of DMK and has also served as Youth Secretary, Mayor, Deputy Chief Minister and Chief Minister. All this happened because of his hard work. Through this photo exhibition, we all can better understand how much work he is doing for the people.

He also said that Trichy has a special place in his heart. He said that Shivaji, Karunanidhi and Anbil Dharmalingam all grew up together in this city. There was a bullock cart in the city, and everyone used to roam on that bullock cart. Prabhu said that he has requested the DMK government to open the statue of Shivaji Ganesan, which was installed 10 years ago. He further said that the people of Trichy have as much affection for Sivaji Ganesan as they do for Karunanidhi, and hoped that the government would unveil the statue soon.

Prabhu, led by DMK general secretary and municipal administration minister KN Nehru, inaugurated the exhibition to commemorate MK Stalin’s 70th birthday at Tiruchi Thuya Valanar School Ground.

Around 350 photographs highlighting the political journey and life history of Mr Stalin were displayed in the 12,000 sq ft photo exhibition organized by the Trichy district DMK. The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 8 pm. Cultural programs like Bharatanatyam and Pattimandram will be organized during the evening.
