Nivin Pauly has been named the sixth accused in the complaint, and Malayalam producer AK Sunil has been named as the second accused.

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly has been accused of sexual assault. Reportedly, a case has been filed against the actor for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman under the pretext of offering her a role in a movie. According to the Malayalam regional channel Reporter Live, the complainant has named six members to have sexually assaulted her under the pretext of offering an acting opportunity. The incident happened in Dubai in last November.

Nivin Pauly has been named the sixth accused in the complaint, and Malayalam producer AK Sunil has been named as the second accused. Oonnukal police has registered the case. They’ll be transferring it to the SIT formed by the government to probe these new allegations.

This comes at a time when several cases of sexual assault in the Malayalam film industry have left the entire nation shocked. It all started after the findings of the Justice Hema Committee Report were made public earlier this month. As of now, FIRs have been registered against nine film personalities, which include Mukesh, Siddique, Jayasurya, Edavela Babu, Maniyan Pillai Raju, directors Ranjith, V. K. Prakash, production executives Vichu and Noble after women actresses registered complaints.

Of all those who have been named as ‘exploiters’ by victims, Mukesh got interim relief from arrest till Wednesday. Earlier today, film director Ranjith also applied for anticipatory bail in the Kerala High Court and claimed that he is being ‘implicated’.

In the wake of the same, Mohanlal also recently resigned as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists. He was the president of the association and had a 17-member executive committee. However, all the members of the committee submitted their joint resignation.
