Action plan on drugs: 2 in the district, 4 STF teams deployed in the border area; Punjab CM Mann summons DC-SSP

CM Bhagwant Mann had a meeting with the officers of STF 3 days ago.

Mann government has prepared an action plan against drugs in Punjab. Special Task Force (STF) teams are being deployed across the state. Now 2-2 teams of STF will be deployed in every district and 4-4 teams will be deployed in the border area. CM Bhagwant Mann has summoned the DCs and SSPs of all the districts to Chandigarh today for full cooperation to the STF teams. CM will have a meeting with them at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh.

The issue was raised in the last meeting
CM Bhagwant Mann had a meeting with the officers of the Special Task Force a few days ago. Officers led by STF Chief Harpreet Sidhu joined it. In this, STF teams from the field were also connected through video conferencing. There it was found that the STF teams in the field were not getting enough support from the local police and administration. For this reason, Mann had asked to convene a meeting of SSP and DC on the same day.

Drugs mafia is a big issue in Punjab. First Captain Amarinder Singh got power by making it an issue. However, he could not eliminate the mafia completely. In these elections, the Aam Aadmi Party made it an issue. However, within a month and a half of his government, many people died of intoxication. After which CM Bhagwant Mann has become active to end drug addiction.
