Action on VIP Security: Security of 8 leaders including MPs Harsimrat, Bhattal and Jakhar reduced, 127 gunmen and 9 vehicles back

In Punjab, again the government led by CM Bhagwant Mann has used scissors on VIP security. The security of 8 leaders of Punjab has been drastically cut. These leaders include MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and former Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar. After the security cut, 127 policemen and 9 pilot vehicles have been withdrawn. Mann Sarkar says that they will now be taken back to the police station for the safety of the public.

MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal: The Punjab Police had placed them in the Z security category. They had 13 employees and a vehicle. Now their security has been made of Y category. They will have only 11 employees. 2 employees and vehicle have been recalled.

Rajinder Kaur Bhattal: Former Punjab CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal had 36 policemen and 3 vehicles. He had Y category security. Now 28 policemen and all three vehicles have been taken back from them. There will be only 8 policemen in Bhattal’s security.

Sunil Jakhar: Jakhar, a former Punjab Congress chief, was placed in the Z security category. He was accompanied by 14 policemen and a vehicle. Mann Sarkar argues that he has no security threat. 12 of his policemen and a vehicle have been taken back.

OP Sony: Former Congress deputy CM OP Soni was placed in the Z security category. He had 37 personnel and 1 vehicle under his protection. Now the vehicle and 19 personnel have been withdrawn.

Kewal Singh Dhillon: Former MLA Kewal Dhillon was kept in the Y+ category. He was accompanied by 11 policemen and a vehicle. Now the government has taken everything back.

Vijayinder Singla: Former Education Minister Vijayinder Singla was kept in Z Security by the Punjab Police. He was accompanied by 22 employees and a vehicle. Now 18 police personnel and vehicles have been taken back from them. They will have only 4 gunmen.

Parminder Singh Pinky: Former Congress MLA Parminder Pinky got Z security. He was guarded by 28 policemen and a vehicle. Now 26 policemen and vehicles have been taken back from them.

Navtej Cheema: Navtej Cheema, a former MLA close to Navjot Sidhu, was placed in the category of Y+ security. He was accompanied by 13 policemen and a vehicle. Now they will have only 2 gunmen. 11 gunmen and vehicle have been withdrawn.

AAP bid – had made a status symbol
Aam Aadmi Party Punjab chief spokesperson Malvinder Kang said that some leaders had made security a status symbol. Drivers and housework were being taken from the police personnel. Now he will come out and protect the public.

After the security was withdrawn, former MLA Navtej Cheema said that the security is based on the intelligence report. In which it is seen that who is in danger? He said that the day a leader died, the Aam Aadmi Party government would come to know.
