Action has been taken regarding potholes on NH-227 in Madhubani, Bihar. The Road Construction Department has taken action from the Chief Engineer to the Junior Engineer responsible for this. 2 engineers suspended, 2 sacked and one chief engineer have been issued show cause notice.
Road construction minister Nitin Naveen said that executive engineer Lokesh Nath Mishra and a junior engineer have been suspended. The Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer who worked with him have been relieved from service. Along with this, show cause notice has been given to Superintendent Engineer Ishwari Prasad Singh and Chief Engineer of National Highway Amarnath Pathak.
The notice asked why the road was not repaired if the contractor stopped working. The reply was received that Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, who visited Bihar on June last, has laid the foundation stone for the construction of this National Highway. Its work will start after rain.
Center said – Bihar has not yet handed over this road
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways tweeted that this road will be made by NHAI (National Highway Authority of India). However, till now the Bihar government has not handed over it. Work on this project will start in two weeks.
