At the same time, after two years, the Delhi Police has decided to announce a reward of one lakh rupees to the person who gives information for the arrest of the policemen involved in the incident.

Faizan died on February 26, 2020

Let us inform that Faizan died in a hospital on February 26, 2020, a day after his release from the police station. Here she was taken to northeast Delhi after she was allegedly attacked by policemen and forced to sing Vande Mataram and the national anthem along with four others. According to sources, the Crime Branch has questioned around 250 police personnel and scanned several documents including duty charts of policemen posted from outside the area during the riots.

Voice sample sent for forensic examination

After questioning him, a head constable posted in the Delhi Armed Police was identified but denied his involvement. Later his polygraph test was done, in which he failed. As the report of the polygraph test is not acceptable in court, the police took his voice sample from a video clip of the incident and sent it to the forensic science laboratory in Rohini.

So far about 95 policemen have been questioned

Sources also said that senior Crime Branch officials have asked the SIT probing the riot cases to replace the investigating officers of all those cases which are still unsolved. Recently, the investigating officer in Faizan’s case was also changed, and the new IO was asked to offer a cash reward on the arrest of the accused. The new IO has started questioning all the police personnel again. So far, about 95 policemen have been questioned.
