ACC Emerging Asia Cup: Yash Dhull’s India A registered a comfortable win over Nepal in their second group game of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023 on Monday. Riding on Nishant Sindhu’s brilliant performance with the ball and a dominant display from the openers with the bat, India A chased down the target of 168 with nine wickets in hand. Following their win at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the Men in Blue pipped Pakistan A to top the Group B spot. India A have won two consecutive games in the competition.

Coming into the game, India A were already considered favourites. They had won the previous match against UAE A in similar fashion where the team put in a fine performance in all departments. Dhull’s team was too aggressive to handle Rohit Paudel’s Nepal. Nepal were bundled out for 167, with Nishant Sindhu taking four wickets including opposition captain Paudel’s 65. Right-handed Poudel was the only bright spot in Nepal’s innings as none of the others touched 40.

Chasing a small total, Sai Sudarshan and Abhishek Sharma got India off to a flying start. The two toyed with the bowlers and put on a 139-run partnership before Sharma fell to Paudel on 87, close to a century. Dhruv Jurel was dismissed for three and unbeaten innings from Sudarshan (58) and Jurel (21) helped India A win in just 22.1 overs.
