ABP Survey: Did Akhilesh do self-goal by raising the issue of Pakistan? Know what people think

Lucknow: With the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections approaching, the round of accusations and counter-allegations has intensified in the state.

In one such instance, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken up a statement made by Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Pakistan. Following this, many in the state wonder whether the former UP CM has made a self-target by raising the issue?

To know the mood of the voters on the controversy, ABP News along with C-Voter conducted a survey. During the voting, 46 per cent people said that yes Akhilesh has scored a self-goal, while 32 per cent replied otherwise. 22 percent of the respondents said that they cannot comment on the issue.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath himself has reacted sharply to Akhilesh Yadav’s statement. “What about the education and farsightedness of those who do not consider Pakistan an enemy, Jinnah seems to be a friend,” Adityanath said.

“He calls himself a socialist, but the truth is that ‘Tamanchism’ is running in his vein,” he said in a tweet.

In another tweet, Yogi called the opposition Nirguna and said, “There is a saying that don’t wait, wear a quiver…” This is the condition of the entire opposition! If you are in power, don’t do anything, now everyone is wearing a quiver during elections.”

What did Akhilesh Yadav say?

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had said in an interview to a newspaper that the real enemy of India is China and Pakistan is only a political enemy. However, BJP only targets Pakistan for vote bank politics.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra also strongly criticized Akhilesh’s statement. He had said in a press conference on Monday, “SP leader Akhilesh Yadav said in an interview to a newspaper that he does not consider Pakistan as the real enemy of India.” BJP calls Pakistan its enemy for vote politics.

Patra had said, “I want to ask Akhilesh ji that the brothers and sisters of Kashmir who have been killed by terrorists sent by Pakistan, are they not Indians? One who loves Jinnah, how can he deny Pakistan ? Entered in the name of Jinnah and he reached. Pakistan today.”
