Abhijeet Bhattacharya has sung a few songs for Salman Khan, including Chunari Chunari in Biwi No. 1.

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya opened up about two songs he sang for Salman Khan. In a recent interview, Abhijeet revisited Biwi No.1’s hit song Chunari Chunari, which featured Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen, and admitted it was ‘never a great song.’ He felt that the song was heavy on music and his name was merely associated with it. He also shared an interesting insight about recording Tan Tana Tan for Salman Khan’s Judwaa.

Speaking with Pinkvilla, Abhijeet said, “It was never a great song for me; it was just an instrument, toh bas mera naam aata hai usmein. Aisa nahi hai ki wo mera gaana hai par wo bahut bada hit hai bahut pehle se hi.” He added, “Mere gaane hit hue hain, but it’s not necessary ki wo film bhi commercial hit hui ho. Mere gaane classic hue hain.”

Opening up about Tan Tana Tan, Abhijeet confessed he thought the song was being recorded for Govinda and not Salman Khan. As a result, he added elements quintessential to Govinda’s songs. The reason he thought it was a song for Govinda, the singer explained, was that David Dhawan had predominantly worked with the actor so he presumed the duo was working together for yet another film together.

“David Dhawan ne Govinda ko chhod ke kabhi kisi ke saath kaam hi nahi kiya jab se wo David Dhawan bana hai. Toh mujhe kisi ne nahi bataya ki ismein kaun hai. Sabko pata hai picture ban rahi hai, ismein Salman Khan hai. Aap believe karo mujhe nahi malum tha,” Abhijeet said.

“Mujhe samne se recordist bol rahe the ‘Aap kyun Govinda bane hue ho.’ Toh wo bhi soch rahe the ki main Govinda ki tarah kyun kar raha hun,” he said before adding, “Mujhe pata hi nahi tha Salman hai picture mein. Is song pe lekin pata nahi pada kyun ki face ki jagah pura dance pe aur choreography pe le gaye. Jis tarah se gaaya gaya wo expressions aur acting nahi dikhaye gaye.”
