Addressing party workers from Chandigarh AAP office on Thursday, Raghav said, “People of Punjab have had to wait a long time. We could have won in 2017. But, now under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, this state will no longer go by the name of ‘Udta Punjab’. Promising to form a good and progressive government, Chadha said, ‘Rangla flourishes as Punjab’.
The party led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal surprised both the incumbent Congress and the regional Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) by making a big jump from the previous elections in 2017, when it made its debut in the state assembly with 20 MLAs.
Raghav hit out at the BJP and the Congress, saying AAP had urged the people of Punjab to sweep, but instead they have chosen vacuum cleaners in the state. “People of Punjab love the pairing of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann,” he said.
Stating that Punjab would soon see a wave of development, Raghav claimed, “Kejriwal is not a pro-terrorist. He is a supporter of education and development. The people of Punjab have proved it.” He said, from Kerala to Kashmir and from Gujarat to Assam, people are now looking at Kejriwal’s model of governance with great hope. And in the coming days it will work as ‘National’. And naturally ‘replacement of Congress,’ Chadha said.
“All these parties tried to defame us with false allegations. He also called Arvind Kejriwal a ‘terrorist’ but today he has defeated them all with his positive agenda. It is now clear that when the aam aadmi (common man) of the country enters the electoral battle, they can also dethrone top leaders,” said the AAP MLA from Delhi.
AAP is leading in 75 out of 117 seats in Punjab. As the AAP won a landslide victory in Punjab, wiped out the Congress and took its second state after Delhi, celebrations have begun in many places in Punjab.
In a notable change from 2017, the party had left no doubt in the minds of voters this time around, and a month before the election announced Bhagwant Mann, a popular Sikh face, as the CM candidate – a decision that clearly marked the party’s campaign. strengthened by. The call for change and the Delhi model of governance found resonance among the people of Punjab, who had seen power alternate only between the Badal-led SAD and the Indian National Congress in previous decades.
