The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will on Wednesday conduct a ‘padayatra’ (foot march) across the country to celebrate achieving the status of a national party. The Election Commission (EC) on Monday (April 10) recognized AAP as a national party.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led party appealed citizens to join the party by giving a missed call on 9871010101.

AAP’s national convenor Gopal Rai said that these marches would also celebrate the achievement of getting the status of a national party.

“Our party has achieved a significant achievement by attaining the status of a national party in just 10 years of its inception. Party workers in all state and district offices across the country will organize celebrations on April 12. A padyatra has also been planned to spread the party’s message and appeal citizens to join the movement by giving a missed call on 9871010101. Said.

Rai said that his party wants to take the message of “Make India No. 1” to the masses.

AAP’s national secretary Pankaj Gupta said the party’s election symbol “broom” would be reserved for the party across the country, enabling it to contest elections using this symbol in any part of the country.

“Instead of 10, we can fill the form of any candidate with just one proposer. The party will get more national media time and will now be able to announce its campaign in batches of 40 for the election. The party will also be officially given space for its national office.”
