Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi Marlena has shared a letter issued by the Center ordering the demolition of a temple in Delhi’s Sriniwaspuri area. The letter mentioned that the Neelkanth Mahadev temple was built on government land without any authorisation. The letter ordered that the land had to be vacated within seven days, failing which the structure will be demolished.
The news comes amidst growing tension over the demolition of a 300-year-old temple in Rajasthan’s Alwar.
AAP MLAs Atishi and Madan Lal staged a protest against the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ notice about the temple demolition. They told the locals that they will not let bulldozers raise the 25-year-old temple.
