AAP MP claims flight has landed ‘Shook the Soul’, Vistara replies ‘Touchdown was normal’

AAP MP Sanjay Singh claimed that a Vistara flight survived the accident while landing at Bhubaneswar airport on Wednesday and “shook the soul”, following which Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia promised action. However, Vistara responded that while the landing encountered strong winds during the flight, touchdown on the runway was normal.

Flight UK785 departed from Delhi at 7 am and reached Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar at around 9 am on Wednesday.

The Rajya Sabha MP tweeted, “The passengers of Vistara’s flight landed in Bhubaneswar today, heartbroken and it was a narrow escape.” Singh said, “Please take some more work from the pilot, otherwise there may be a major incident. Vistara Management and Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia sir, please take cognizance.”

In response, Scindia said on Twitter, “Sanjay ji, we will take appropriate action after investigating this matter. Thank you for bringing the incident to notice.”

In its statement later during the day, Vistara said that the flight encountered strong winds during the landing of the flight. “However, the pilots managed to make the necessary adjustments, and despite the strong winds, touchdown was normal. Our pilots are well trained and experienced in handling such situations.” “The safety of our customers and employees is of paramount importance,” it noted.
