Aap Ki Adalat: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari advised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to follow in the footsteps of his grandmother Indira Gandhi, who avoided criticizing her domestic rivals in foreign lands. His remarks come amid attacks on Rahul Gandhi, who was criticized for his remarks in London.

In a conversation with Rajat Sharma in Aap Ki Adalat, Gadkari said, ‘After the Emergency, when Indira ji went to London under the rule of the Janata Party, she was accused in the Shah Commission. India, Indira ji replied that she would not discuss outside India, what was happening to her inside the country. I think, Rahul ji should learn this from Indira ji. Whatever differences they have with the government, whatever anger they have, they have the fundamental right to freedom of expression. He should speak inside India. They should not insult or dishonor outside our country. ,

On Rahul’s disqualification from Parliament, Gadkari said, “BJP or Modi ji did not terminate his membership. It was done by the court. It would not be fair to blame us. The rest is politics. When I was the party president, we were the opposition.” We did not allow the House to function for two-three months while staying in the House. Members used to behave the way they are behaving now. Atal ji (Vajpayee) had said, parties will come and go, leaders will come and go, the Prime Minister will change, the people of this country are sovereign. Yes, democracy is paramount, the country should move forward.”



Gadkari reminded the Congress that during Dr Manmohan Singh’s regime, Amit Shah was pressurized by investigators to implicate Narendra Modi. “I want to ask him what he did with Amit Shah during the UPA regime? Why was he asked to become a prosecution witness and implicate Modi? We will let you go unpunished. What kind of politics is this? Let us Let us all sit together and work on ideology based politics. Let us all bring a qualitative change in our politics and democracy. Parties and leaders may differ, but development of the country, upliftment of the poor and parliamentary democracy should be our aim. Parliament is our For it is a temple of democracy, we should maintain its dignity.”
