AAP cannot forge an alliance with Samyukta Samaj Morcha as it is looking for ‘fresh faces’ for Punjab polls

The pre-poll alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Samyukta Samaj Morcha (SSM), a political front formed by 22 constituents of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha that led the farmers’ movement, appears to be a distant prospect after Arvind. List of candidates of Kejriwal’s party for the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections.

Buoyed by its victory in the Chandigarh civic polls, the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday announced another list of candidates, taking the total number of claimants to 88. After a huge seat allotment, AAP is looking at distribution of tickets to fresh faces and first time ticket holders. The scope for alliance with the newly formed United Samaj Morcha.

Denying any alliance with AAP, senior state leaders said there would be no pre-poll alliance with any party or SSM. Punjab-based AAP leaders said a post-poll alliance cannot be ruled out based on the outcome of the election. A senior said, “AAP is not in favor of forging an alliance with any local party as the central leadership feels that it will not be able to give the kind of governance to the people, as the leadership had during its rallies in different parts of the state. promising.” leader.
