aap: Bjp Trying To Lure Our Councillors: Aap | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Surat on Monday again accused the BJP of trying to lure its municipal councillors in Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC). AAP released an audio clip claiming that a youth BJP leader from the Diamond City had tried to lure the party’s councillor Ghanshyam Makwana of ward 4.
“BJP’s ward 14 youth wing Bhavesh Jajadiya made a call to Makwana on Saturday. Since Makwana knew that it was an attempt to lure him, he recorded the call,” alleged Dharmesh Bhanderileader of opposition in SMC.
Bhanderi further claimed that they have two more recordings which they will release later. He said that AAP councillors and leaders were receiving calls from those associated with the BJP. “Three of our councillors could record calls while others do not have evidence to prove the allegation,” he added.
In the audio, a man is heard telling Makwana that he would not get such an opportunity again. “Nobody thinks of a party and one should take advantage of the situation,” the man is heard telling Makwana.
“Though there is no direct offer of money but it is clear that the man wanted Makwana to leave AAP. If the councillor agrees later, he would receive an offer,” Bhanderi said, adding that no more municipal councillors from AAP will join the BJP.
Earlier on Friday last, five municipal councillors including four women members of AAP joined BJP in the state capital Gandhinagar. Councillors Vipul Movaliya of ward 16, Bhavna Solanki of ward 2, Jyotika Lathiya of ward 8, Ruta Kakadiya of ward 3 and Manisha Kukadiya of ward 5. On Thursday, AAP had issued a showcause notice to Movaliya and sought an explanation for his anti- party activity.
