After many years of marriage, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao separated this year. However, the celebs are still on good terms and are co-parenting their son Azad. The couple, who separated on Saturday, were seen together for their son’s football match. Pictures shared by ETimes showed Aamir and Kiran having a good time and even enjoying drinks at the venue.
When they parted ways in July, he had said that he would live with Azad and even cooperate professionally.
The actor married Reena Dutta 16 years ago before marrying Kiran Rao. They got divorced in 2002. Although it was not a harsh separation, Aamir once said that their divorce was “difficult for both of them.” He had earlier said that he and Reena got married when they were both very young. Describing their relationship as ‘special’, he said that she is one of the three women in his life who are the most important part of him.
Meanwhile, rumors were doing the rounds that Aamir is going to tie the knot for the third time. However, the reports were dismissed.
After their divorce, people had come up with the theory that the actor’s alleged affair with Dangal co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh was the reason for their separation. A source close to Khan rubbished the rumours. Fatima also addressed these rumors in an earlier interview, where she said, “A group of strangers whom I have never met are writing things about me. They don’t even know if there is any truth to it. No. People reading this assume that I am ‘not a good person’.”
