Popular television actors Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh have now divorced after 9 years of marriage. The former couple had not been living together for over a year now after having problems in their marriage. However, neither Aamir nor Sanjeeda have ever publicly addressed their split. The couple are parents to baby girl Ayra Ali and as per reports, the custody of their daughter has been given to Sanjeeda.
A source close to the couple told Hindustan Times, “It has been almost nine months since the divorce papers arrived. They have progressed in their respective lives. They are both very private, and therefore do not want to make any official statement about the divorce.”
When contacted by the website, both Ali and Sheikh have neither denied nor confirmed the divorce. However, maintaining a “no comment” stance, Shaikh mentioned, “I just want to make my child proud.” Ali, on the other hand, expresses without revealing much, “I wish Sanjeeda all the happiness.”
Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh tied the knot in 2012 after being in a relationship for a long time. The two also participated in the third season of the dancing reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ and were declared winners that year.
The news about their marriage first hit the headlines in 2020. It was revealed that the couple has a one-year-old daughter, Ayra Ali, who was born via surrogacy.
