Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has challenged Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to contest against him from Mumbai’s Worli assembly seat. Thackeray, the MLA from Worli, at a party function on Friday challenged other Shiv Sena MLAs and MPs who rebelled against his father Uddhav Thackeray to resign and face the electorate afresh.
Aditya said, “I have challenged this unconstitutional Chief Minister that I will resign from the post of MLA from Worli and you contest against me. Let’s see how you win from Worli.”
“I am also challenging these 13 defector MPs and 40 MLAs to resign and contest again and see if they can get elected,” he said.
Shinde became the Chief Minister after being ousted from power Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government In June 2022.
