Aadhar Card Update: How To Retrieve Your Lost Aadhar Online / Offline

It connects us to almost every aspect of your daily life, from bank accounts to your vehicle license, insurance policies, loans and even in some cases your Wi-Fi network. With this happening, it becomes important to keep it on your person at all times. So, what happens in the event that you lose it? In order to provide an easy solution for this, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the Aadhaar issuing authority, has come up with a simple process that allows one to lost Aadhaar card, retrieve it.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to get your Aadhaar (online)

Phase 1: start by going to the officer UIDAI website and login.

Phase 2: On the home page, you will see a tab named ‘My Aadhaar’ in the drop-down menu under ‘Aadhaar Services’ section. Click on it.

step 3: This will take you to a new page with two different options – ‘Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID’ option and it will take you to a new page.

step 4: On the new page you will see two options at the top of the page which gives you two options. One is to retrieve the ‘Aadhaar Number (UID)’ and the other is to retrieve the ‘Enrollment ID (EID)’. Select one before moving on to the next step.

Step 5: You will then have to enter all the relevant information in the fields below. Fill in your name as in your Aadhar card, registered phone number and the email address you used. Note that if you have not registered the official phone number in your Aadhar card or have not yet updated it with a new one, you will have to complete it first.

Step 6: Fill the captcha information for verification and click on ‘Send OTP’ option.

Step 7: You should receive an OTP (One-Time Password) on your registered mobile number or email ID. Input that information and once again enter and verify yourself.

Step 8: Once all this is done, you will receive Aadhar Number or Enrollment ID, whichever you choose before verification. Simply use this to download your e-Aadhaar copy from the UIDAI website.

Phase 1: Visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center.

Phase 2: Give all your demographic details to the Aadhaar Enrollment Officer and authenticate them with your biometrics.

step 3: Then the staff will provide you your official Aadhar number. Using this you can get your e-Aadhaar at the enrollment center after paying a specified fee.

Phase 1: Call the official UIDAI helpline number (1947)

Phase 2: Follow the instructions to contact the customer support desk staff and provide your demographic details. They will then give you your EID on the call.

step 3: Give your EID number and PIN code and get your Aadhaar number through IVRS AR 1947.

step 4: Visit the UIDAI website and download e-Aadhaar using your registered mobile number or visit the nearest Aadhaar Center with EID and authenticate your biometrics.

Keep in mind that there is no charge to get your Aadhar card online, it is applicable only if you visit the physical location to get it. No documentation is required for either method. The only thing that is needed is your demographic details and your biometrics (if you go to aadhaar center).
