In another tweet dated January 20, the central authority described the benefits of having PVC Aadhaar. “The #Aadhaar PVC card is water resistant. With good quality printing and lamination, you can now use it everywhere without worrying about it getting damaged, even by rain.”

Being easy to carry and durable, the PVC-based Aadhaar card has a digitally signed secure QR code with photograph and demographic details along with multiple security features. According to the official website of UIDAI, it can be ordered online through uidai.gov.in or Resident.uidai.gov.in using Aadhaar number, Virtual ID or Enrollment ID.

Steps to Order Base PVC

As per the official website of UIDAI, here is how you can order your Aadhaar PVC:

– Visit https://uidai.gov.in or https://resident.uidai.gov.in

– Click on “Order Aadhar Card” service.

Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number (UID) or 16-digit Virtual Identification Number (VID) or 28-digit Enrollment ID.

– Enter security code

– If you have TOTP, select the option “I have TOTP” by clicking in the check box

Click on “Request OTP” button.

Enter the OTP/TOTP received on the registered mobile number.

– Click on the check box next to “Terms and Conditions”. (Note: Click on hyper link to view details).

Click on the “Submit” button to complete the OTP/TOTP verification.

– On the next screen, a preview of the Aadhaar details will appear for verification by the resident before placing the order for reprint.

– Click on “Make Payment”. You will be redirected to the Payment Gateway page with payment options like Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking and UPI.

After successful payment, a receipt with digital signature will be generated which can be downloaded by the resident in PDF format. You will also get the service request number via SMS.

– On Check Aadhar Card Status Residents can track the status of SRN till the dispatch of Aadhar Card. An SMS containing the AWB number will also be sent after the Aadhaar PVC is sent. You can further track the delivery status by visiting DoP’s website.
