Aadhaar Card Update: How to Verify Aadhaar Details of Domestic Worker, Driver, Tenant

NS Aadhaar card issuing authority, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has come up with a facility wherein individuals and private citizens can now verify Aadhaar of any other person. Treat it as a background check. Once, this facility was limited only to government institutions and banks, but since then it has been opened to the general public as well.

NS UIDAI is a statutory body that was established by the Government of India in January 2009 under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It complied with the provisions of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016. Prior to the enactment of the above Act, UIDAI was functioning as an annexure office to Planning Commission which is now NITI Aayog. Now, Aadhaar stands as the world’s largest biometric identification system.

Here’s How You Can Verify Someone’s Aadhaar

Phase 1: Visit the official UIDAI website or you can visit the specific page (https://resident.uidai.gov.in/verify).

Phase 2: Click on the ‘Aadhaar Services’ section falling under the ‘My Aadhaar’ category in the drop-down menu.

step 3: Once you find it, click on ‘Verify an Aadhaar Number’ option on your screen.

step 4: After clicking on it, you will be redirected and a new page will open. You will be taken to the Aadhaar Verification page.

Step 5: On the new page you will see some boxes where you have to fill the required information. Enter your Aadhar Number and Captcha given below in the respective box. After entering your information, click on the ‘Verify Proceed’ button at the bottom of the page.

Step 6: After you click on the Verify option, one of two things will happen. For one, if the Aadhaar number entered by you is genuine and authentic, the status of the number entered will be displayed and it will be listed as an operational number on the website. If the number is incorrect or has been deactivated, you will receive a notification informing you of this.
