The accident happened around 8 am near Kalbani village in Khed taluka of Ratnagiri district.

On Friday morning, a private bus overturned on the Mumbai-Goa highway near Ratnagiri and fell into a ditch. In this, 25 passengers on the bus have been injured. The condition of half a dozen passengers of the injured remains critical, they are being treated at a hospital in Ratnagiri.

The accident happened around 8 am near Kalbani village in Khed taluka of Ratnagiri district. According to preliminary information, the bus driver blinked and his eyes were closed for a few seconds. It is believed that due to this the bus got out of control and fell into the roadside ditch. The driver also sustained injuries, however, he is out of danger.

Most of the tourists who were victims of the accident
This bus (MH04 GP2319) had left from Parel area to go to Kelane Gomlewadi. Most of the passengers aboard were tourists and were going for a walk. The injured passengers could not be identified. The injured have been admitted to Kalbani sub-district hospital for treatment. Volunteers of police and rescue teams reached the spot and took the passengers to the hospital.
