A lot more in Captain’s statement but first leave him to Congress: Parminder Singh Dhindsa

After Captain Amarinder Singh said that he would seek an alliance with like-minded parties like the splinter Dhindsa group, Lahargaga MLA Parminder Singh Dhindsa said the former Punjab chief minister had not spoken to him yet, and That a “lots of ifs and buts” in the captain’s statement.

“It is difficult for me to comment on this issue as Captain Amarinder Singh is still a part of Congress. Let him leave the Congress party first. There are many ifs and buts in his statement. He says that if BJP resolves farmers’ issue or when he forms his own party – they will have an alliance. We have not even discussed this issue in our party. We had no meeting with Singh, not even a conversation. Our party’s stand is that the three agriculture laws should be scrapped,” Parminder told News18.

Parminder and his father Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa formed the Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) faction after leaving the main Akali Dal.

The MLA said that his party is against Congress, Akali Dal and BJP. We want the farmers’ movement to be resolved. That is the primary objective of our party. We want that three laws should be abolished as per the demand of the farmers. We are opposing Akali Dal, we are opposing BJP and we are opposing Congress.

“These are just imaginary things. When a situation like that comes, the party will discuss it and look into it and decide what is to be done,” Parminder told News18.

Another Akali faction, Ranjit Singh Brahmpura of SAD (United), said, “The captain never called me, never met me and Dhindsa in the last few years. There is no basis for this news as there is no communication with the Capt. Undoubtedly, the problem of farmers must be addressed, more than 700 lives have been lost during the farmers’ protest. Punjabis sacrificed the most for India’s independence, but the Center is not listening to them for a year. it’s pathetic. We will not approach the Captain first, but if the laws are repealed, we will decide the way forward and go with like-minded people. But we will not go with the BJP as it is anti-farmer.”
