A day after two terrorist attacks in South Kashmir district, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday transferred Kulgam Senior Superintendent of Police. In an order, Principal Secretary (Home) Shaleen Kabra said the government effected the transfer of three SSPs “in the interest of the administration with immediate effect”.
As per the order, Kulgam SSP Gurinderpal Singh (IPS) has been transferred and asked to report to the police headquarters awaiting the next posting. Kupwara SSP GV Sandeep Chakraborty (IPS) will replace him at Kulgam, while SSP (Tech) CID Headquarters Yugal Kumar Manhas will move to Kupwara as SSP.
A policeman and a non-local laborer were killed in two consecutive attacks by terrorists in Kulgam district on Friday.
