A couple cycles 1,000 km from Mysore to spread COVID-19 awareness. Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysuru based cyclist friend, Gurprasad B S And Bharat PN, pedaled over 1,000 kilometers from Mysore To Tirupati To create awareness about staying fit to avoid getting infected with COVID-19. On the way he also planted saplings. Both started the journey on 30 June and completed it on 9 July.
Guruprasad says, “We decided to lift the soul of many people who have lost their hope since the outbreak of the pandemic, so we decided to walk 1,000 kms and chose Tirupati as the final destination because we Wanted to reach out to the people living in villages, to spread awareness about the need to stay safe to fight the deadly pandemic.In our way, we asked people to indulge in physical activities for at least one hour a day. We were holding banners at many places to give a message to the people about the safety protocols that they need to follow.”
The duo planted saplings at 13 different places around colleges, schools and police stations. “We wanted people to take care of the plants, so through our NGO helping HandsWe contacted the local people and made sure they take care of the plants,” says Bharat.
On what he learned from this journey in the pandemic, he says, “We have come a long way cycling. This is the first time we have done it for any purpose, so it was an absolute satisfaction when our journey ended in Tirupati. In-spite of this covidThe welcome we get from people at the stopover points is overwhelming, which we will cherish for a lifetime. ”
