Bhumi Pednekar made her Bollywood debut alongside Ayushmann in the movie, Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is celebrating his 40th birthday today, and the outpouring of love from family, friends, and fans has been overwhelming on social media. Among the many heartfelt tributes was a special post from actress Bhumi Pednekar, who made her Bollywood debut alongside Ayushmann in the movie, Dum Laga Ke Haisha. On Saturday, Bhumi took to her Instagram Stories to share an adorable selfie with the birthday boy. In the snap, the duo can be seen enjoying a hot cup of chai and some cookies, with Ayushmann sporting a black sweatshirt and Bhumi in a white hoodie.

Sharing the picture, Bhumi wrote, “Happy Birthday @ayushmannk, Have the bestest year,” followed by a sparkle and nazar amulet emoji.

Apart from Bhumi’s debut movie, Dum Laga Ke Haisa, she and Ayushmann starred together in the 2017 romcom, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, a film about erectile dysfunction. On September 1, the R S Prasanna-directed film completed seven years of its release. To celebrate the same, Ayushmann shared a montage of several clips of the film and wrote, “#7YearsOfShubhMangalSaavdhan,” followed by a red heart, cookie and teacup emoji.

Ayushmann and Bhumi also worked together in the 2019 satirical film, Bala. In it, Bhumi played a friend to Ayushmann’s titular character, who suffers from male pattern baldness. Then, Bhumi made a cameo appearance in the Andhadhun actor’s 2020 film, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, which revolved around the love story of a gay man.

Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in the sequel to his 2019 superhit, Dream Girl, Dream Girl 2. He will be next seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming untitled film, co-starring Sara Ali Khan. Reportedly, he is also expected to join the Maddock Films horror-comedy universe with the film Vampires of Vijay Nagar alongside actress Rashmika Mandanna.

Meanwhile, Bhumi Pednekar was last seen in Bhakshak, a crime thriller based on the Muzaffarpur shelter case. She will be next seen in the Netflix series, The Royals, co-starring Ishaan Khatter, Zeenat Aman, Chunky Panday, Sakshi Tanwar, Dino Morea, and Milind Soman.
