Madras Rajagopalan Radhakrishnan, also known as MR Radha, was a famous Indian actor and politician. He was actively involved in Tamil plays and films and also earned the title Nadigavel (King of Acting) from Periyar EV Ramasamy. It is said that the father of the veteran actress Radikaa Sarathkumar was married five times.
While working in a drama company, he fell in love with Premavathi. He then married her and the couple was blessed with a son named Tamizharasan. Unfortunately, a tragedy struck when MR Radha lost both his wife and son to smallpox a few years later. Following the death of his first wife, he travelled extensively for his plays and fell in love with several women.
MR Radha then married Saraswathi, Dhanalakshmi and Jayammal and started families with them. MR Radha then married a Sri Lankan Tamil woman named Geeta. He had two daughters with her, Nirosha and Radhika, who are known figures in the film industry. He has a total of 12 children, along with Radhika and Nirosha. MR Radha passed away in 1979 due to jaundice.
Her daughter Radhika Sarathkumar also married three times. Radhika acted in several films across languages down the South. After working in films, she also developed a keen interest in politics and joined AIADMK before the 2006 Assembly Elections. But she was dismissed from the party due to anti-party activities. She then served as the vice president of the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi from 2007.
Radhika first got married in 1985 to a prominent director, Prathap Pothineni, during the peak of her career. But their marriage couldn’t survive, and the couple called it quits in 1986.
She then tied the knot in 1990 with a British man named Ryan Hardy. It was reported that she shifted to London with her husband. It is said that Hardy started harassing and assaulting her. Later, the couple parted company and she returned to India. Later in 2001, Radhika married R Sarathkumar. The couple has been going strong since then.
