Preeti became the first-ever Indian woman track and field athlete to win two medals at the Paralympics. High jumper Nishad Kumar clinched his second successive silver at the Paralympic Games.

It was yet another eventful day for the track & field athletes and the shuttlers at the Paris Paralympics as two more medals were added to India’s medal tally while a few more were assured.

Preeti Pal created history as she became the first-ever Indian woman track and field athlete to win two medals at the Paralympics. High jumper Nishad Kumar of the T47 category clinched his second successive silver at the Paralympic Games with a season’s best effort of 2.04m.

Heartbreak for para archer Rakesh Kumar after his stunning run in the Paralympics ended without a medal as he went down by one point to defending champion He Zihao of China in the bronze play-off.

Suhas Yathiraj positioned himself for unprecedented glory by reaching the summit clash for a second consecutive time after fellow shuttler Manisha Ramadass also assured India of a medal but star shooter Avani Lekhara missed out on repeating her medal-winning feat in her pet event. Nitesh Kumar on Sunday inched closer to their maiden gold medal after progressing to the men’s singles final.

Para Athletics: Preeti Pal secured yet another medal for India, clinching a Bronze in the Women’s 200 m – T35 Final with a personal best timing of 30.01 seconds.

Para Athletics: Nishad Kumar won a silver medal in the men’s high jump T47 category with season-best effort of 2.04m

Para Badminton: Suhas Yathiraj defeated Sukant Kadam 21-17, 21-12 to reach the Men’s Singles SL4 finals. Sukant to play in the bronze medal match.

Para Badminton: Mandeep Kaur lost to Nigeria’s Mariam Bolaji 8-21, 9-21 in Women’s Singles SL3 Quarter Final

Para Badminton: Palak Kohli bowed out of Paris Paralympics 2024 following her 19-21, 15-21 defeat against Indonesia’s K Sadiyah in the Women’s Singles SL4 Quarter Final

Para Badminton: Manisha Ramadass cruised past Japan’s Mamiko Toyoda 21-13 & 21-16 to qualify for Women’s Singles SU5 semi-finals

Para Badminton: Nithya Sre lost China’s Lin Shuangbao 13-21, 19-21 in the Women’s Singles SH6 Semifinal and will compete for bronze

Para Badminton: Nitesh Kumar reached the Men’s Singles SL3 final, beating Japan’s Daisuke Fujihara 21-16, 21-12. He will face Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell for the gold medal on September 2.

Para Shooting: Avani Lekhara finished 11th with a score of 632.8 while Sidhartha Babu finished 28th with 628.3 points in Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH1 Qualification

Para Athletics: Rakshita Raju failed to qualify for the Women’s 1500m T11 final after finishing 4th with a timing of 5:29.92

Para Rowing: Anita and K. Narayana’s campaign ended as they finished 2nd in PR3 Mixed Double Sculls Final B with a timing of 8:16.96 and an overall 8th position finish

Para Shooting: Sriharsha Devaraddi Ramakrishna finished 26th with a total score of 630.2 points in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone SH2 Qualifiers

Para Athletics: Ravi Rongali missed out on a medal as he finished 5th in the Men’s Shot Put – F40 Final with a Personal Best throw of 10.63

Para Table Tennis: Bhavina Patel dominated Mexico’s Martha Verdin 11-3, 11-6, 11-7 to advance to the Women’s Singles Class 4 Quarterfinals

Para Archery: Rakesh Kumar lost 146-147 to China’s He Zihao in the Men’s Individual Compound Open Bronze Medal match. He finished 4th – the highest finish by an Indian compound archer in any event at the Paralympics till date.

Para Badminton: Thulasimathi Murugesan beat Manisha Ramadass 32-12, 21-17 in the semifinal of the women’s singles SU5 badminton event to seal her place in the summit clash.
