Team India fielding coach T Dilip praises Rohit Sharma

Team India fielding coach T Dilip said it’s needless to comment on Rohit Sharma’s batting but as far as his nature is concerned, there are very few good human beings like him.

Rohit Sharma is undoubtedly one of the finest cricketers in the country but when it comes to being a nice human being, the Indian captain is right there on the top. Not only his teammates but even the coaches have been vocal about the kind of person Rohit is. The youngsters in the team have already been praising the captain for his solicitous nature and now, fielding coach T Dilip has admitted that Rohit is not only a great leader but also gold at heart.

Speaking at the Raw Talks with VK podcast on YouTube, Dilip said it’s needless to comment on Rohit’s batting but as far as his nature is concerned, there are very few good human beings like him.

“I don’t have to talk about his batting because everyone knows he’s one of the best pullers of the ball. All that is there, but the angle that I’ve seen through my work… When I was with the Deccan Chargers, I was able to see Rohit Sharma from a distance. In the last three years, whatever time I’ve spent with him, there are very few good human beings like him that I’ve seen in life,” Dilip said in the podcast.

“Another thing is the relationship he has with every member of the team. The relation, the bond he’s built by talking to each one,” he added.

Highlighting Rohit’s funny nature, Dilip recalled an incident from the recently-concluded Sri Lanka tour when the Indian skipper charged at Washington Sundar after the all-rounder lost his run-up twice in succession.

“He is actually a very funny person, a happy-going person on the field. You also must have seen, in the match the other day, when Washington skipped twice, the running… So he tries to create a very nice environment on the ground as a leader.

“There are funny incidents around that but he’s a great human being and there’s no need to talk about how good his leadership is… There’s the World Cup and the IPL trophies before that. He’s one of the best,” Dilip added.
