Jennifer Lopez has filed for a divorce from Ben Affleck, multiple international reports have confirmed. The couple had sparked rumours of separation earlier this year and throughout the summer, their appearances without their wedding rings, selling of their marital homes and moving away from each other feulled the divorce rumours. TMZ has now confirmed that the rumours were true and they are parting ways. However, a new report claimed to have the real reason JLo finally filed for a divorce.

Sources told People Magazine that Lopez got no sign from Affleck that he wishes to be in the marriage. Tired of waiting, JLo allegedly decided to file for the divorce. “She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage,” an insider claimed. The source also said, “She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken. The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

The grapevine also added that Jennifer is ready to ‘move on.’ Jennifer is yet to react to the reports.

The news of Bennifer’s split comes on the second wedding anniversary of the couple. For the unversed, they had exchanged their vows in a ceremony held in Georgia on August 20 in 2022. So it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that she chose to file for the split on this day.

As per TMZ, Jennifer Lopez filed divorce documents pro per, which means she filed them herself and not via an attorney. The date of separation has been dated as April 26, 2024, in the documents. Ben and Jennifer got married 20 years after they first met on the sets of their comedy film, Gigli. It was reported that they bonded well as friends on the sets of the film and eventually started dated. While the couple parted ways and dated other people, with Ben also marrying Jennifer Garner. But they eventually found their way back to each other in 2021.
