There is buzz that MTV Splitsvilla’s Kashish Kapoor and Digvijay Singh Rathee will be seen in Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 18.

Kashish Kapoor has taken social media by storm after she chose to walk away with Rs 10 lakh instead of competing in the finale of MTV Splitsvilla X5. A direct consequence of her choice was that fan-favourite Digvijay Singh Rathee, with whom she was paired, also lost his chance to compete in the final battle. Amid the controversies and ‘war of words’ which has erupted online, there is buzz that Kashish and Digvijay are in talks for Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 18.

In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Kashish Kapoor was asked if she would be a contestant on Salman Khan’s show. She said, “You know what, I’ll tell you a funny story. Yesterday, my manager called me and told me that the owner of my agency said, ‘Our talent is going to Bigg Boss, why didn’t she tell us?’ Kashish, you’re going to Bigg Boss, why didn’t you tell us?’”

She added, “I was like, ‘Who is going to Bigg Boss? Me?’ I have no idea where this rumour started from. I’m just as clueless as you are. I’m waiting for my alter ego, who apparently has these conversations, to tell me when I’m going to Bigg Boss.”

The swirling speculations around Kashish and Digvijay participating in Salman Khan’s show gained momentum after she chose Rs 10 lakh over a chance at winning MTV Splitsvilla X5. On the show, Kashish mentioned that as someone from a “lower middle-class family”, the staggering amount was more important for her than the winners’ title.

Kashish had said that she paid Rs 1 lakh monthly as her rent in Mumbai and this amount would ensure a roof above her head for a year. However, Digvijay, who consequently lost his chance at a win, questioned her choice on the show, citing his own financial needs and Rs 20,000 monthly rent. This became a huge talking point after the show’s finale was aired.

Reacting to this, Kashish said, “I was so mad. I was not mad at him, I was mad at myself. See, I framed my sentence poorly in that flow. But I explained myself in the VD, which was cut. I told everyone what I meant and that in the heat of the moment, I framed my statement wrongly. But they (makers) know how to make a mountain of a molehill, so they took his reaction to that part.”

She added, “Honestly, it is your decision how you want to spend your money. I have never claimed that I’m poor. Touchwood, I’m very well to do. I have always, with reason, explained that I have come from a not-so-well-to-do background. But I’m doing great for myself and it is because of the tough decisions I made. I don’t know where people misunderstood and decided to nitpick. Today, the most important thing for me is living nicely.”

“You must be from a certain background. You want to spend however and live however. You cannot compare that with me and say that my needs are not justified. I can also compare a lot of things. You (Digvijay) drive your own car. My family couldn’t purchase a car till a year ago. We bought our first car last year. Being a 24-year-old man, you’re driving your own car. So let’s not go there. I can give 10 reasons to explain myself, so picking this one point undermines where I come from. I can’t blame him for his answer but eventually, how it turned out, it undermines my problems,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, Akriti Negi and Jashwanth Bopanna emerged as the winners of Sunny Leone’s show. Harsh Arora and Rushali Yadav came second, after losing by a five-second time difference. Interestingly, the choice of walking away with Rs 10 lakh was given to Kashish by Munawar Faruqui, winner of Bigg Boss 17.
