On August 15, Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt’s science fiction, Double iSmart hit the silver screens. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film has opened to mixed reviews from the audience. The film is a sequel to the 2019 hit film iSmart Shankar. The sequel was garnering immense attention before its release. Now that the film is in the theatres, fans are showering it with love. Meanwhile, there are reports about when the film will be available for streaming on the OTT platform.

The film is all about a notorious assassin, Big Bull who runs a drug and weapons cartel abroad. To achieve immortality, he decided to transfer his memories to iSmart Shankar, who already had a USB port embedded in his head.

The film is headlined by Ram Pothineni and stars Kavya Thapar, Sanjay Dutt, Vishu Reddy, Bani J, Sayaji Shinde, Getup Srinu, Uttej and Makarand Deshpande in prominent roles. Apart from direction, Puri Jagannadh has also produced the film with Charmy Kaur. On August 15, the day it hit the screens, the film minted Rs 7.5 crore nationwide. Meanwhile, as per reports, the Telugu version of the film had an occupancy rate of 63.98 per cent. The pan-Indian film witnessed a low occupancy rate of 33.35 per cent.

Now, as per the reports, Puri Jagannadh’s directorial will be available for streaming on OTT platforms after 45 days of its theatrical release. Reportedly, the digital rights of the film in southern languages have been bought by Amazon Prime Video for Rs 33 crore. The deal for the Hindi version is still not completed yet.
